Just got a para 2 with digi scales and DLC blade, what would be the best way to remove the "shininess" or gloss from the pocket clip and still keep it black. I'm hoping to get it to look more like the DLC on the blade.

Thanks!

Try lightly going over the clip with a scotchbrite pad or fine steel wool.

gold scotchbrite and water. the gold is very fine and the water keeps the finish even and less scratchy looking. just work slow and light check it often to make sure you don't cut through.

I use the easy stonewash method. Fill a 20oz gatorade bottle or similar with some rocks (Not full, 2/3 or so), spray some WD40 in the bottle to coat the rocks, then throw everything in the dryer on no heat for a little bit. Make sure you duct tape the top of the bottle and wrap it in a towel. Works well, I have used it on a few clips now and have had great results.

That won't take the black paint off?

I just been wondering the same thing. I was curious if it would work to run it through the tumbler I use for polishing brass prior to reloading. I'll have try it with an extra clip first.

I didn't see the black portion of the first post, sorry. I would assume it would dull the finish quite a bit, but I'm not sure whether or not it would take all the paint.

I would just strip all of it. If your actually gonna use the knife its gonna get all chipped up anyways.

I'm not sure about the clip on a black Para 2, but I assume its similar to the black Endura or Delica clips. If it's powder coated, take some acetone (regular nail polish) and strip the paint. Underneath is a nice matte bead blasted finish. I understand you like the black, but it gets scratched up so easy and looks terrible as it flakes off. I do this for all my painted clips.

If its the black like on a Millie clip, IDK, that stuff I'd tough!
