I received this Schrade Wolverine in the mail today and as you can see, the knife is heavily covered with verdigris. I can and will remove that from the knife but there is some verdigris inside the sheath where the guard rests. What do you sheath/leather guys/gals recommend that I use to remove it from the leather?

ED, I have also collected Schrades for many years, this is a common condition that I receive them in. I use saddle soap on a clean rag, wrapped around the end of a pencil to get in there and get it out. After that, I store the knife and sheathe separately to prevent a reoccurrence. I use simple string tags to mark which sheathe goes with which knife ( a lot of Schrades use similar or identical sheathes). rtmind/randy

R rtmind - Thank you very much for your input:thumbsup: - especially about the rag around a pencil. I'll give it a try. I do keep some of my knives separated from their sheaths. Thanks again.:)
