I just ordered a can of Ren Wax to coat my knives in storage. All my knives in storage are coated with Tuff Glide/Tuff Cloth. Do I need to worry about trying to remove the layer of Tuff Glide before applying the Ren Wax? Is it possible that the Ren Wax could seal in the Tuff Glide and give another layer of protection?

I would think the TuffGlide would protect better than the wax.

Museums use it for items that are displayed, not stored.
If I recall correctly, the marine Tuff Cloth was one of the best rust preventers.

I use only Marine Tuff Cloth for all my knives, storage and otherwise. I've never had any rust what so ever, even with knives put away since Marine Tuff cloth first came out many years ago. This, despite the fact that I've always my adult life in tropical, very humid regions. I do like Ren Wax for handles though...
