Hi Guys! Whats the take on Renaissance wax? Is it as good as everyone says it is? or a bunce of crap, Do you need to put anything else on the blade with it? If anyone else out there uses it, let me know how good it is. thanks Bowie 1953

I like it.... but what do I know?

Ask the Curator of the White House. Ask Buckingham Palace. Ask the staff of the Smithsonian.

If it's good enough for these institutions and virtually every other major museum in the world, then it's probably good enough for my stuff.

Do you need to put anything else on the blade with it?

Heaven's no!

Now, folding knives are a different problem. If you can disassemble them, then just Ren Wax everything. But if you can't wax inside the joints, then I'd suggest a tiny drop or two of Tuff Glide.

Okay, silly question time.
Can RenWax be had from any chain stores like Home Depot or Ace Hardware or so on?

I've never seen Ren Wax in any store around here. But, it's easy to find on the internet or at any knife show. Just a word of warning; don't get carried away when applying it to blades. It's pretty easy to get too much on, and then it's hard to remove the streaks. Works like magic on any wood though.

You can put renaissance wax on every part of the knife. Handles, blades ect. I put it on ivory, pearl and any wood I use. Spread some on with a finger and then wipe it off with a soft cloth.
