Here is the render for our revised Minuteman MM04 watch dial. At this point the only thing we are still thinking of changing is the marker above the 00 though we are not sure what to change it to. We would love to hear your thoughts on that.

An Arrow?

A Cross?

A star?

Any of those would look cool.

Best Regards,

Minuteman... hmmmm... crosshair?

Perhaps a sourdough front sight picture?...

For the top marker accent on watches, I tend to prefer simpler. What you have looks nice. Other options I'd consider are bringing it to a simple point centered at the 00. A slimmer, straight dash would be nice. Or two vertical dashes centered above each zero.

It's a great design you have there, and I think it's really awesome that you're taking input on it here.

Thanks for the kind words. It may be we stick with it as is for now. One version that we proposed with our initial design of this did have the two vertical dashes. But not with each above the 00's which sure sounds like a good idea. =)

We also tried the typical Flieger style pyramid shape in early renders and I have always wondered if we should have gone with that. We elected not to as we thought that had been done to death especially at the time when there were many aviator style watches coming out.

00 needs to be either 12 or deleted all together.

Also use either the hour numbers or the 5-minute interval numbers but not both. Then consider the 5-minute interval number really belong on a rotating/time elapse bezel or not at all. Putting both sets of numbers on the dial as it just makes the dial busier than it needs to be while serving absolutely no purpose. if you leave the 5-minute interval numbers, I suggest you make them tiny and thin. Otherwise it's just a distraction - a solution in search of a problem. Along the same lines delete the leading zeros on numbers that are truly single digit numbers. Think about it --- the best tool watches are those easily read rapidly/at a quick glance with no distractions. Simpler dials enhance that.

Ensure the minute and second hands reach all the way out to the minutes/seconds chapter ring on the dial, or, better yet, into that ring.
