It is my favorite Spyder, although I never read very much about it in any forums.Is/was it an unpopular model?.It fits my hand like a glove.I bought one when it was re-released.

While not my favorite Spydie... it is proving itself to be very handy in the real world usage around the property. I use its pointy end to ream out drain holes and hoses. The 4 inch plus blade is very useful for the long rooted weeds that the weed-n-feed missed. I appreciated the serrations on the comboedge yesterday cutting some replacement irrigation line PVC that the former owner saw fit to recess only 2 inches under the lawn that I shredded with the rototiller.

I think the improvements they made on the new model worked. I have an original and the newer one is clearly better. Although the one hand opening is quite a stretch for my normal sized thumb. It is obvious to me that this was designed and intended to be a linerlock. I wonder what happened to have it released as a lockback.

I am looking for a good deal for a backup of the newer model, as I use it a lot.

I recently bought one for my birthday. Great knife for $50! A little hard to open and the hole is a little too edgy.

This was brought up a long time ago. It wasn't designed to be a liner locking knife in the first place. The cutout was designed to access the hole alot more easier. The reason the other side wasn't cutout, if I remember correctly, is because the designers thought it wouldn't look/feel right.

I did regret a bit selling it.
But I kinda needed the cash, and I got the Starmate to replace it.
I wish they rereleased one that was plain edge. I love the clip point and the ergos on that knife. I think it's under-appreciated.
