Renewed my Gold but haven't been updated yet. If someone could take a look I'd appreciate it.

Ok, it's been a few days now. I've tried messaging a couple Mods and emailing Spark, and have still to hear anything back. Any other ideas?
 
Try clicking the "Settings" link at the top right of the BF window, next to "Log Out" link, then click the "Permissions Group" link under "My Account".
If your Gold is active, you can change it and save it there.

I've done that, it's not. Don't even need a Gold membership, just trying to support the site. . .

Why does it seem that its takes some time to have your status updated after renewing?

Would it be a good idea to renew about a month before your membership ends and not wait to be notified by email that it's time to renew?

Because it depends on how you pay. Paypal will almost always go through immediately. Paying with credit or debit will have to be processed manually. Spark is a busy guy with a lot on his plate at all times so he gets to them as soon as he can.

Still haven't heard anything. Just sent Spark a message through the PayPal system. Hopefully that will help to find the exact transaction code.

I always heard paypal was manuel and credit was instant, in fact I've seen credit payment be instant.

I appreciate the bump but to be honest I'm pretty much through and will be leaving the site due to a number of recent issues here. It's pretty apparent my membership request is being ignored as I have not received a single communication from the site owner to date despite multiple emails and contact attempts. I just asked for a refund through PayPal while I still have time to do it.

I've been a member here for a while and have had some good times. There are a lot of people I'll miss, but there is also a certain negative aspect that is well ensconced in the site that I won't. Still, I'm sorry it came to this but it is what it is and beyond my control anyway. Seems the decision was made for me and I can definitely take a hint. . . ;)

You and Charlie (Revdevil) are definitely part of the best this site has to offer and will be sorely missed. I'm sorry it came to this. Take care of yourselves!

AFAICR, Paypal is the one that must be processed manually. That is why there is the additional $5 surcharge added to paying that way. Credit card payments thru the system are automatically processed and show up immediately.

Please note - paypal pricing reflects a $5 service charge since your membership must be manually activated.

Did you use the automated system or did you just paypal your subscription fee without doing so? Because I'm not showing any transaction information in the transaction log, and the PP transaction receipt looks like it has no membership attached to it, it just looks like you sent funds without a member name or anything.

Regardless, it's refunded but next time use the automated system.
