Reno firearms & knife show

When is the show? - wait, Google to the rescue - April 17-19, 2009, if that's the one you're talking about... the "Big Reno Show."

No, this is more of a "safari" and top-end show at the Silver Legacy next weekend.
"Firearms Engravers and Gunmakers Exhibition" with "Special display by members of American Bladesmith Society".
$20.00 a day.
It's worth it to see the wood that some of the stockmakers have :-)

Isn'tthis also the Safari Club show? If so, this is where they used to have the ABS All Forged Blade Show.

Same city, same weekend, but downtown. And yep on the knife part.
Ask me for the better local eating spots or local info, like public transportation is less than good here...

Jim Rodebaugh and one or two others are the only ABSers that I think are going. Jim has been busting his ass to get ready and will have some spectactular pieces highlighting his engraving.

Pretty special group and it's an honor to get invited.

Unless I'm mistaken, it's the annual Safari Club International Convention and the Firearms Engravers and Gunmakers Exhibition that occur at the Silver Legacy complex (Silver Legacy, Eldorado forget the third hotel that's also adjoined) each year.

Usually, the ABS Forged Knives Exhibition occurs simultaneously, however the ABS event has been moved to San Antonio in August.
As mentioned, Jay Hendrickson and a few other ABS Reno Exhibition regulars will set up displays this year at the Firearms Engraver's show.

I usually attend the ABS Reno show and have always enjoyed it, however couldn't make the smaller event this year.

Jerry was to set-up at the SCI event, however I believe his plans have changed.

If anyone wants to try a family style Basque restaurant for dinner let me know. I'll show you what a Picon Punch is...
