Repair and blade swap on customized 110

I recently picked up on ebay a 110 that had been customized by the addition of stag scales. The knife is very nice, but upon closing, sometimes the blade doesn't go all the way down, leaving the tip out just a little bit. When locked open, the rocker-bar and the spine of the blade project above the back of the handle just a little where the two parts meet.

My question is, can this be repaired? I know that the warrantee is void, but will the fine people in Idaho consent to making the knife like new, yet retain the after-market scales?

Additionally, what's up with blade upgrades/changes? Any news on the Custom Shoppe and the avalability of different blade materials?

howdy jaguar,
well i am surprised that some one from buck has not responded to your question... yet... they do get bussy tho...

but to the best of my information - yea they will ... unless the knife had been taken compleatly apart replaceing the scales would not affect any thing else... of course you would have to send it back for them to judge that.
if they send yours back with out repair i do know a former buck shop employee that can fix it... email me for his contact info.

some of the older knives had antler from the factory even tho it was not a cataloge item they could be bought from company store...so it may not be after market!

i have a old 110 or two with the same issue and it is likely that it is a back spring/lock bar problum.. i will send mine for repair when i have time.

334dave, I appreciate the response. I seriously doubt that it is a factory antler scale model. I would appreciate the contact info. I have moved to my birthplace in Maine from Los Angeles, and this forum will not recognize my new e-mail address. I'll post it here: buddydharma@hotmail.com.

Thanks a bunch.
