Repair folding knife

I have a small, cheap pocket knife that I love (my boyfriend gave it to me and it's a pretty multi-color). There are 2 small holes at the bottom where I think tiny screws fit to keep the frame together and also a spacer is needed. I'm wondering where I could take it to get repaired or if it's something that I could do myself, where do I get the parts?

Picture would help. If you know the manufacturer then you could check with them about sending it in for repair. If you don't then the tough part is finding the right screws since they probably won't be available at a hardware store. Making a backspace isn't too hard if you are handy but requires finding a material of the exact correct width before drilling the holes and shaping it.

OK what you need to do here is figure out if the insides of the liners are threaded. Hopefully not because then it will be easier.
- figure out the diameter of the holes through the liners, to learn the diameter of the 4 screws you need
- measure the distance between the scales, to figure out how long the 2 backspacers need to be
- find and order 2 backspacers that are the right length and the correct threaded inner diameter
- find and order 4 screws of the correct diameter and thread pattern to screw into the backspacers

You want a knife supply website. Google "folding knife parts." You may need to order backspacers that are a little long and then sand them down, don't order ones that are too short to fill the space between the liners correctly or the knife won't open and/or lock smoothly. It can be a bit tricky.

The picture blares out when I zoom in. Is that a Kershaw knife?

The knife doesn't have any writing or label on it so I'm not sure but my boyfriend picked it up cheaply, - maybe at a tobacco store? He said it's cheap and not worth fixing but I like it and don't want to get rid of it - I like to keep it in my car. 'll ask him if he remembers anything about it
