I need a repair manual for one of my cars. Which brand you you like better, Haynes or Chilton's? Are they both about the same, or is one better than the other?

Or, should I drop the extra $$$ for a factory manual?

TIA

I prefer the Haynes over the Chilton manuals if your talking about the vehicle specific paperback kind,Chilton used to make a manual that was similar to a Motors repair manual but it wasn't quite as detailed as the Motors manual,I'm not sure if they make them anymore though, you can't beat Motors. You can get a lot of repair info online anymore,Autozone has free repair manuals that are almost as good as the Haynes or Chiltons paperback manuals, they also have another service that you pay for but I've never used that.Anymore if I need repair info I usually just try looking it up online before I drop any money on manuals but I don't drive anything new so I have a pretty good library of manuals from the about 1995 clear back to the 1940-50s.

It can be helpful to consult more than one manual -- especially for the pictures. The more photos and diagrams you see the easier it is to understand.

Thanks all,

I think I'm going to go with the BF standard advice and buy both.
