I was wondering the best way to repair a RC-6 sheath.

I am starting to get a stress fracture that goes beyond the normal molded space, it appears to be getting larger as it is becoming easier to take the knife out.

Will a bit of super glue do the trick?

Not use to these kinds of sheaths so I don't know how repairs normally go.

Thanks for your help guys, need to learn how to fix stuff like this in the field anyway in case of an emergency.

Will put some on this evening, getting a photo bucket account to be able to post pics to the forum here :)

I thank that will work, LOL, hope so :)

That aint right.. You need a new sheath. Wait a minute....That is a new sheath! Post up some photos because we have to see this. Never heard or seen this before.

That crack may suppose to be there. The sheath is split at the top to facilitate getting the knife in and out.

Step 1: Find the very end of the crack.
Step 2: Drill a small hole precisely at the end; this eliminates the stress point.
Step 3: Fill the hole and crack with superglue, epoxy, or whatever is on hand. Alternately, get some Ambroid ProWeld and fuse the plastic back together.

Yes, I break a lot of stuff. :o

I think this may be the normal split on the top of the sheath that opens up as you break it in. This is totally normal.

sorry these photos are crap, I didnt feel like getting up and turning on a light.

Here's a photo of my knife half drawn:

Thanks, Dizwolf!

As you note, that's not a crack. It's suppose to be there. The sheath is made in two halves and riveted together. That's just where the two halves join. it is made to give there so the knife will slip in. ;)

Sorry so late in posting guys had a bad storm here last night and into the morning.

Tomatoe plants took a real beating, lost some vines.

Here are the pics.

Guess it is not a crack after all, looks like the other pics, sorry, false alarm,I just thought the crack ran a little further than it normally should.

yea, mine was stuck together when I got it, but it looks like thats part of the process of making the sheaths. It's intended to open up to that first rivet, and after that, it can't go any further.
