How did the lifesharp/warranty/repair turn around time for sending it back to Oregon City go from 3 weeks a few years ago, to 4~7 weeks a few months ago, to 5 to 7 days now. What in the balls did they do? I just sent in my Contego to get a blade swap because I obliterated the coating by being a dumbass and they tell me it's a week now instead of a month? I don't get it.

Um, maybe they hired more workers? Or less of their workers are using their vacation time right now? Does it really matter? Just enjoy it

Even 4 to 7 weeks isn't really that bad... if the wait is killing you,,, buy another. Boom..problem solved

This reply is based on my recent experience. Your turn around time depends on the severity of your situation. Sometimes I can send a knife in, and it may take a few weeks or even months for it to come back. However, if your situation is deemed high priority, they will take care of it as quickly as possible and have it shipped back by air. They did this for me when I had to send a knife back twice. When it went back the second time, I had it back in less than a week. Maybe they had a customer in your area with a knife sent back by air and they just shipped your knife back with theirs.

I was told by a cs rep that they had recently updated software for processing orders and that they were having issues with it.

Try learning to sharpen ur own blades, it's very rewarding and also you'll have a rare invaluable skill that your average person doesn't possess!

We have grown every department at Benchmade and added another facility in the last couple years.

Am I the only one actually reading what the OP wrote ???
There are some left field replys here guys.
Take another pass and fly a little lower and slower.

I suspect timing also plays a big part in turn around.

Meaning if you send in a knife the same day as 100 other people vs 500 other people.

The numbers of knives incoming daily under warranty at BKC must be staggering. Yet in all these years I've never had one of mine go missing in the process. Good job Benchmade!

Someone from benchmade once told me its about 700 a week they get in. That's HEAVY. I've had five lasermarked and never waited more than a month or so. Always came back perfect
