Repairing cracks in ivory

Some of my ivory handled knives have begun showing cracks, some of them quite wide. I've begun rubbing down my ivory knives with mineral oil, but for the ones that are already cracked, any advice on how to fill in or otherwise repair them? Thanks.

I fill cracks with thin superglue, let it cure overnight and then hand sand and repolish.

Wasn't there a recent knife mag article by Jerry Fisk about caring for ivory? Seems to me he talked about periodically soaking ivory handles in mineral oil, or something like that.
