I recently got some Camillus made Remington 80's folders over the weekend, and have been using one exclusively as my EDC. If anything were to be done to it, who would I go to for repairs? Would Remington and Bear (I heard that they are the current Remington slipjoint knife maker) honor the Camillus warranty? Would Taylor Cutlery honor warranty work on old USA Schrades? Are there any reputable knife "repair men" out there? I've seen an ad by a gentleman who presumably worked at Case, advertising professional knife repair.

No, they would not honor someone else's warranty. If the manufacturer is out of business then there is no warranty since the warranty is only as good as the company behind it. Bill is right, it rarely makes economic sense to have a modestly priced production folder fixed.

FWIW, the Camillus slipjoint folders I've owned, including the ones made on contract for other companies, have all been solidly built. I have a couple Camillus-made Bucks from the '70's that are are some the best made slippies I've ever handled. With reasonable maintenance, it wouldn't surprise me if they last long enough to pass down to your kids and grandkids. It was really a shame to see this wonderful old company go out of business.
