Repinning options

I've recently have been fiddling around with repinning my Jag. At first I used some small bolts and nuts I got from Radio Shack, but they were way too small and weak. Since I'm planning to mod the knife to accept 1/8th stainless steel pivot pins (when that Texas Knifemaker's supply catalog comes), I wanted something that was easy to remove so I used some bare copper wiring I found. Seems to be holding up fine, except for the tightness I got after mushrooming the ends, but now it's all smooth with just enough play for my liking. I was wondering though (for all you metallurologists), is copper more durable than brass?

edit: Oops, my topic sentence should have been "Repinning opinions".

Brass is harder
Bronze is even tougher and is used in making bushings.

They make a kind of brass that is actually impregnated with an oil lubricant so that when it wears it oils itself.

I know, I did not believe it until I saw it.

I like throwing knives, they're quiet.

I'm not sure how this will look but what the heck.

This is how mine ended up after I drilled the pinholes out to 1/8 and installed folder pivots and socket head screws. I had to heat up the tang section to be able to drill the holes but I wrapped the rest of the blade with a wet rag to keep it cool. It's not bad for a beater.
