Replace/repair bail pin

I have recently acquired a Camillus “Marlin Spike” WW2 pocket knife. It is the correct WW2 version. The bail is present but one side is disconnected. The pin that attaches the bail is broken. I would like to have it replaced or replace it my self.

Any suggestions on how to do it myself? Any suggestions on who I can send it to do the work?

I've seen one fixed before, not too long ago.
A brass pin was inserted, sticking out at both sides, then just peen the ends.

It looked good and worked just fine.

If there is enough slack in the existing pin, the head can just be re-peened.
If you use another pin of exactly the same diameter, and you're lucky-you can drive the old pin out with the new, longer, pin. Then peen the ends. If you are not comfortable doing this, I can do it for you. See my web site- www.billdeshivs.com
