I've recently acquired a Buck 112 with a blade that is very well worn down. I was wondering if I could send this off to Buck and pay them for a new blade. Or would it be cheaper to just go ahead and buy a new 112 entirely? I've checked their site and cant seem to find anyone to contact about this.

I don't know the cost of blade replacement, but other work I've had done that was not covered by warranty was very reasonable.

Have you checked this website: http://buck-knife-shop.com/Buck_Knife_Repair.html

It gives instructions to send a knife in, but no costs. There may be contact information on Buck's home page. I know I've called customer service and had excellent results.

The cost is $10 including spa treatment plus shipping back to you. Pictures of one I had done.

Why do so many people use those knives as a hammer! (holding my side because it hurts from laughing...)

Don't know why they just don't buy a hammer and a knife and use them for what they are designed.

I've bought a few in that condition with blades that were barely used. After about 2-3 hours work I can make them look new again! They make great gifts !
I enjoy giving the beaters a new life.

Wow, that spa treatment is impressive. I would have never guessed that the post-spa knife had been dented and scratched as much as it was. Also, I second the sentiment about using knives as hammers. I mean, brass bolsters? That's soft metal! I couldn't imagine using a knife as nice as a 110 or 112 as a hammer >.O
