Is it very common to have multiple blades for one handle? Example would be to buy a drop point blade then have an insingo or tanto blade to replace original blade.

Couldn’t venture a guess as to how common that is. But to me, needing another blade shape is a really good excuse for getting another knife.

AFAIK:

CRK will make replacement blades, but only like with like (drop point excluded). What that means is if you have a tanto you can get a replacement tanto or a replacement drop point. You cannot get a replacement insingo. If you have a drop point blade originally installed you can only get a drop point replacement.

I believe they will fit a drop point damascus blade to any model that has a damascus offering (21, Mnandi). There is a 9-12 month (variable) wait.

I'd encourage you to reach out to CRK directly about this. I would say it's uncommon to have multiple blades, but it's not unheard of.

I would say it is not that common, but can and has been done. I think most people just buy another knife., since the blade is not that cheap($135-$150) and the time to get it is fairly long.

Thanks for your replies. I'm thinking of possobly getting a large inkosi drop point with micarta handles. I have a large 21 micarta insingo already. So I should probably get a drop point to see the differences.
