Well, I thought I good option for a lighter travel laptop with the ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate OLED Laptop (T3304). Unfortunately, I never got it to boot and tech support wasn't much help either.

What is good in the ~$400 range these days? My only requirements are at least an Intel I3 that is multi-threaded (Intel® Core™ i3-N300) and generally a light weight with good runtime from a reliable and well known brand. I'm not opposed to a good tablet with a keyboard but, I type a lot so a real keyboard is needed.

I've been through a lot of laptops and a lot of brands. I'm typing on an HP Omen right now which has been a great machine but has a glitch in its keyboard that is annoying. I've had problems with Toshiba and Dell, ASUS has killed their own reputation in the industry. I think I would recommend a person look at Lenovo today but at best it is still a crapshoot.

What was the problem with the boot up? Did you get into the BIOS?

You can maybe get a reliable Chrome book in that price range. I dunno about Windows, though.

That Vivobook has a really nice spec and the OLED screen was really nice so, to say I was disappointed it was a dud is an understatement.
