Replacement for foam

Is there or will there ever be a replacement for foam in such products as a type of cushion, in nasa, etc.? I cant think of any really at all. If you know of anything please explain what it is. Is gel replacing foam? I dont think so myself, but I dont know.

I`m talking about for a cushion, all I see on there is insulator and absorber.

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. Are you allergic to foam-filled cushions? Other things cushions are filled with: feathers, straw, kapok, plastic beads, beans, buckwheat hulls ...
