Replacement for my Needs Work?

Loved this knife. It lived in my garage, and was perfect at cutting down boxes and such. Somehow, it seems to have wandered off.

Looking for a replacement. Anything else with a fairly straight Wharncliffe style blade (but with more substance/heft/handle than my leek)?
Otherwise, will have to get another Needs Work. Oddly enough, I don't even mind.

thanks.

The only other Kershaw Wharncliffes I can think of are Random Task and Random Leek. The Random Leek is... well... Leek-sized. The Random Task is slightly larger, but not by much. The Needs Work is a great utility knife. The thicker handle is really comfortable if you are going to be doing a lot of cutting. Unfortunately, it makes it a bit bulkier than I'd like for pocket carry. I too have one that lives in the toolbox in my garage.

Perhaps a spyderco yojimbo 2
This is Kershaw/ZT Forum! get that knife outta here!....Maybe buy another Needs Works in another color!.. Or a Skyline...or go really big and get a ZT0700..I here KershawGuy has them for a great price!

Or as others have said, another Needs Work:

Or if you can find one, the G10 version:

Speedbump is like part wharncliffe and part AWESOME!!! Its funny because my Speedbump wandered off too, maybe there is a Kershaw knife gathering somewhere. Luckily I have 2 more imprisoned in the safe just in it ever gets lost! I like your style, "lose" a knife, buy a knife. If I bought a knife every time I missed placed one Id have at least 30 knives... Oh wait, I do. :D

The bump handle has plenty more to hold on to than the leek, you already know how useful the wharncliffe style blades are, now add a recurve to it and a handy dandy stud lock! I miss my speedbump

So - is 30 a lot? :p

Thanks for all the advice. And pics.
Time to get a blue Needs Work.
Maybe a random leek, just for fun.
And - may start looking for a g10 version of the Needs Work. That looks just about perfect.

30, no, not really. Thats how many knives Ive "lost" and had to replace. :D

I didnt know there was a g10 needs work

There was a G10 Needs Work sold on the exchange recently, by one of this subforum's regulars no less. The flat G10 might make the Needs Work more pocket friendly (slightly slimmer). Seems like they were very limited in number though...

The G10 looks nice, I hate the stock handle, would never buy one because its too ugly. G10 is pretty.

I picked up that G10 needs work, I like it so so much more than that ugly FRN one. If Kershaw kept them like that, and scrapped the normal handles, they would sell like hotcakes. The stonewashed blade looks great on it btw.

I like that aluminum snap-on version a lot! I never knew they made that variation. I agree with Bob, I say go for the speed bump. They have more handle to hold onto, and have the two different shapes in one blade making it way more versatile than you would think. They are not that much more expensive anyway!

Just posting an update.
I just ordered a JYD composite from Dave. I was going to order another Needs Work, but he didn't have any. We'll see in a couple days - but things may have worked out for the best!
Been looking for an excuse to try the composite blade. Next up - MIM!
