I have a nice 10yr+ old Weber gas grill

Grates starting to fail.

What kind of grates are the best replacement option?

Use Weber brand or another?

Well, if you want the replacements to last 10 yrs I would go with Weber. At least that's what I plan on doing when and if mine ever fail.

There are some real nice cast iron grates available. A set came with a new Broil King grill I got last summer. The grills are reversible, one side has thin grates for grilling and leaving wonderful marks. The other side is for slow roasting with troughs to retain the juices and help baste the meat. They work very well and make me look like a grilling master.

I totally rebuilt our old three burner Weber last summer... It has seen a lot of use over those years.
I ordered all the new replacement parts from Weber, and it was very reasonable compared to a new unit.
Webers parts seem to last a long time
