I love my KR Johnson French Hawk. It's a fun thrower and a good chopper for camp chores, but last weekend I finally busted the handle. Duct tape is filling in for now, but where are some good sources for new hafts? Thanks!

Here it is before I broke it:

Crazy Crow sells hafts and I imagine Mr Johnson makes them as well.

Best regards

Does anyone know if any of these will fit cold steel trail hawks? Thanks!

I know for a fact, the ones from black bear do, though you may have to shave down the sides a bit because their handles are more teardrop shaped, while cold steels are more like an egg. But, you can buy cold steel replacement handles from ragweedforge.com, find his throwing axe section and scroll down to the cold steel section, I think they're 5$.

For anyone who has a wood lathe or access to one, I buy up all the old hickory baseball bats at the Goodwill store and turn my own. I can get them there or at most thrift stores for around a buck.

How do you turn a teardrop shape on a lathe? I don't understand the physics of that hehe.

House handle company outside of Cassville MO. They are the supplier for alot of people who sell hawk handles. I think you can even get seconds which work well if you throw alot....
