hello all, first post here.
I finally killed my Kershaw skyline after about 3 years of heavy abuse. It has served me well and even survived being run over with a 6000lb fork lift. but while prying up a floor drain cap I snapped about an inch off the tip :numbness: I have been looking and getting another skyline for work and one of the JYD 2 composites for Non work carry.
the problem I have is I Don't like the look of the new Saw blade style copper seam as much as the puzzle piece pattern.... Does anyone know a place that still sells the older style? every supplier I contacted that still uses the old photo is a no go, when I email them they say it is in fact the newer one. If I could possibly get a newer one in a (Blem) I might be able to live with it, but i would much rather have the older style. maybe someone has one they don't use and wouldn't mind parting with? :D

i would appreciate any help fellas.

Those are probably all gone, you can probably find one on the exchange here, but for a blem JYD CB 2.2 look here

on a side note, why wouldn't you use a small prybar to pry something up instead of a knife?

For prying jobs see widgy above the knife...

it was a work emergency, the flush valve decided to stick wide open when I stopped the toilet up at. I couldn't get to the shut off valve because the access panel has a keyed lock. and the floor drain has a rubber flap insert that was stuck shut, so the floor was steadily being flooded..... all i had on me was a cell phone and my knife. I got the drain up and was able to free the stuck flap. unfortunately I was the only one still at the office so i had to do something :D, was a crazy evening to say the least.....

thanks for the link, for that price I think I can live without the puzzle pattern.

That's why I carry my P-bar with my keys...so I don't eff up a knife I like. If you meant to eff up your knife though(so you have a reason to get a new one), then that's an entirely reasonable thing to do. ;)

I should probably get one of those also.... just in case i don't get enough fiber in my diet again :D

Are you looking for a new JYD2 in the old style or would a user work?
I was looking for the old style used or new. I ended up just buying one of the newer (Blem's) for $55. thats only $15 more than a skyline, i couldn't pass it up :D
if i like it enough I may just carry it only and forget a replacement skyline. I may end up getting a modified pocket clip though, that one on it just screams
" I am a huge scarey knife" If i run across the older models for a good price I may get it also ;) I just really like the look of the puzzle piece seam line.

You made a good choice, The jyd2 cb is a great knife. Ive had one for 4 years now, and its still one of my favorites. Next you will start looking for the ever elusive jyd SG2 Ti frame lock.

thanks for the assurance I think i will like it.

there are allot of knives i would much rather have but when i spend more than $60 something always goes wrong, (usually momentary stupidity)
about 6 years back I had a Benchmade Ares with the green scales that i left stuck in a Stud wall when I worked in construction. I really miss that one..... I also lost a Skirmish several years ago while out drinking with friends, that one had to have been stolen though. there is no way in hell that big ass knife fell out of my pocket  but that was the end of me spending more than $60 on a knife, well I do still have a Benchmade Bali song lost somewhere in my home, so that isn't a total loss :D
man i miss that ares.............

Got the Blem JYD 2 from kershawguy Friday, so far I am very pleased. the pivot was a little sticky out of the box. but a mirror polish on the bushings and pivot surfaces fixed that rite up. I also use moebius 9020 synthetic watch movement oil on my knives pivot points, so it is slick as snot and really tight.
but I notice the XXXX mark is not on the blade, did kershaw stop doing that?

so far i hate this pocket clip..... it has already taken a little chunk out of my lazy-boy.... the tip on it is a tad pointy for a pocket clip. so i will be trying to find a plain low ride clip for it.

Look up the STR lowrider, he has a forum here as well. No idea if they stopped printing the "XXXX" on their blems or not, a good question to send Kershawguy
