They're just pressed on, no epoxy. I put the little screwdriver on another SAK into the t & t slots and pried the old scales off. Then you tap the new ones on. The t & t slots are molded into the scales. After you tap the new ones on you just slide the t & t back. The first knife took me about 10 minutes to do. I was tapping real softly a little at a time evenly around the knife with a little brass hammer. The second time I just whacked it a few times and was done in less than a minute.Originally posted by Margelatu
Frank: Could you please elaborate a bit on how you put the new scales? How were the old ones attached in the first place? Were they epoxied to the metal? How about the spaces for the tweezers and toothpick?
Thanks,
Dan
I think so. You might want to email Pizzini to make sure. The website has changed since I ordered mine. I think all of the 91mm models are the same. I'm not sure if the replacement scales have a hole for the straight pin.Originally posted by bquinlan
Frank: How do I specify that I need the scales with a third slot for the pen? Are those the ones with a "+" next to them on the list?
Will those standard 91mm scales fit even the big 91mm models like the SwissChamps?
