Replacement sheath for a Ritter Mk3?

I bought a new Doug Ritter RSK Mk3 fixed blade recently. I love the knife but the sheath is a different story. It just seems a bit too long with a couple of useless loops in the back and the adjustable velcro strap makes the whole thing ride too low for me.

Does anyone have this knife and can offer a place to get a replacement sheath (kydex, leather, or nylon) that is a bit shorter and with a least a single decent belt loop?

Thanks!

You are right, the Ritter Mk3 is great, but the stock sheath leaves a lot to be desired. I got rid of mine right away and ordered these.

Here are a couple of sheaths made by On/Scene Tactical.

Eric did a really good job on both of them.

It took a long time to get these back. You will have to send your knife to him.
I imagine the red tape of living in Canada had a lot to do with it.

As you can see, I also sent him my Fallkniven TK1.

Both sheaths are very secure and have minimal bulk. The Ritter snaps in with a reassuring sound.

I neck knife these, but the belt loop works well too.

The Bussecombat site has links to several sheath makers including On/Scene tactical.

Hope this helps.

Thanks bearcut! That sheath looks great but not sure I want to send my knife away right away though and to Canada!

There has to be a sheath maker around Central Texas so I'll keep looking around. The photos will give me an excellent example of what to show someone what I would like.

Thanks again!

You might check your local knife shops too.
The art of kydex molding is becoming more common.

Heck, even our lone knife shop up here does it now.

I have noticed that a fold over design like mine generally fits a little tighter than a two piece sandwich design. If you carry the knife on your belt this isn't as much of an issue.

Good luck

I took your advice and found this knife shop here in Austin http://www.knifesharpest.com/ that can make Kydex sheaths starting at $30 for something like the one you had made. I'll give them a try and post up later how it went for anyone else in the Austin area interested in getting a sheath made.

Thanks again!

It took about a week but the folks at The Knife Sharpest here in Austin did a good job on the kydex sheath I asked for. It has a nice snap as the sheath locks onto the handle and it is fairly easy to draw but won't come out if attaching it to neck lanyard.

I have found out though that the sheath moves around on my wading belt I tie around my waders when fishing since there are no belt loops and I don't cinch it very tight. Therefore I ordered a Tek-Lok clip so I can install on the sheath to take care of that.
