ANyone have any advice? Brands to stay away from? Is Bristol worth the extra $$? Or SChuco? Any feedback would be appreciated.

On the web their are sites but they are either owned by window guys or the people answering were salesmen.

I don't know much about different brands. Though my parents have been buying Marvin windows and they appear to be great quality stuff. Of course they have only had them for 3 years. Take that as you like... :)

I've also read that solid vinyl windows are to be avoided if you can afford to. Apparently they move so much with the temp fluxs they tend to leak. Guess they are the cheapest for a reason....

We spent $10K on Gilkey replacement windows several years ago (about 20 windows) and they are great. But there are probably less spendy but also very good ones out there. A nice option is where they tilt in so you can clean the outside of the window from inside your house.

Installed Pella a few years back. Very good windows...but not very good customer service...could just be the local distributor.
