Replacing blade on a small lock back?

I've done quite a bit of work to various screw built knives but never one that's pinned together. How difficult would it be to take one apart and put it back together? Basically what I'm wanting to do is replace the blade on a small gentleman's style lock back with a cap lifter to make a small folding bottle opener.

couldnt you just grind the opener into the blade?

That was my first thought but it's a thin blade and it would leave so little metal that I don't think it would hold up for long.
