Hello! I am hawkless, and lust for an ATC Next Gen Ranger. Ahh, that always makes me feel a bit better to admit my addictions.. :)

Anyways, I'm thinking of seeing if I can trade my CRKT Companion for a hawk, and I'm betting if I can find a trade it will be for a CS hawk. I don't mind reworking the bevel, as I have the gear to do that and I have reqorked the bevel on a hatchet for a neighbor. What I don't know about, however, is handles. Do you have to buy handles from Cold Steel? Can you make them easily? I know very little about 'hawks, so I turn to you, my peers, for edge-u-cation!

Cray, you can buy replacement handles from CS but there are also other sources. Here is a thread that names a couple and this thread covers the head to handle attachment process.

AWESOME BRIAN! Thanks a lot. I was hoping you'd post here. I was checking out your hawk pics again last night. Congrats on your new warbird hawk, or whatever it is called. THat si a REALLY interesting spike :)
