Replacing scales -- newbie question

No success in finding a knife kit for a Barlow. How difficult is scale removal on a scaled Barlow -- is buying a midrange knife and replacing the scales workable?

If you are looking for a knife that says "Barlow" on it yes, there isn't a kit. If you want a knife that is similar in shape, there are several kits that will work. I suggest you get one of those and learn how to do the assembly and make the scales. Once you have done a few kits you can take a Barlow apart and rebuild it with custom scales.
