Does anyone know if Buck will replace a blade on a Rush? I have the normal Rush with the 420 HC blade. I wouldn't mind replacing it with the ATS 34 blade.

Is this even possible? Thanks!

If your 420HC was damaged I think they would replace it with a 420HC, but otherwise I think you need to buy the ATS-34 model! It is worth trying I guess, but two Buck rush's at home wouldnt be bad either!

I had a folding alpha hunter that the blade edge dinged up on, it was the 420HC, they would replace the 420HC but wouldnt upgrade the blade. Maybe that has changed...
I went and bought the "upgraded" model. (I needed it really :D)

Oh yeah, just my .02 worth ;) I am sure Joe will have the real answer!

I figured as much...I'm going to call them anyway. I'll post the results of the call. :D

It may be just as affordable to buy the ATS-34/154CM version!
Is the 420HC damaged? I know the blades are replaceable, BY Buck ;)

Good luck!

It is not damaged at all......in fact....it still has the factory edge on it.

I was just going to suggest selling it, and buying the ats version, but nevermind...
I did some research quick ;)

You should try out the 420HC, she aint bad!

Keep it and buy a new one or sell it and buy the one you would prefer. I know that someone would buy it.

I had a 420HC Rush, carried it & used it & sold it to a friend, then I bought a Rush w/ATS-34. I like it alot better.

Scott, aside from the better steel, what is it that you like "better" about the ATS-34? I ask because I'm in a similar situation, and I'm wrestling with the idea of getting the ATS-34. But, like others have noted, the 420HC on this one is pretty nice.

What's your thought?

rroossinck, I like the ATS better just because of its ability to retain an edge after prolonged usage. If the Rush was offered in BG42, I'd most likely sell/trade the ATS Rush. The 420HC is a good steel with an an excellent heat treat, but I find myself sharpening them more often than blades with a premium steel.
