Alright so i took my first ever knife apart(a kershaw vapor) and ended up losing one of the washers. It was a stupid mistake but next time I'll try to learn from my mistake. From your experiences, which type of washers would be best to get? i know its a cheap little knife but i want to put it to some use and keep it for as long as i can.

oh and off topic. when i go to lube up my knives, what type of lubricant should i use?

Contact Kershaw they may send you another, they aren't normal washers like you would use for bolts or screws. For a smooth knife I use tuff glide, or my Strider I use a teflon based bearing grease.

If you call Kershaw, they will most likely send you a couple of washers.

I do not have a Vapor, but I would guess that they are nylon. You have to determine their thickness. You can order from a knife supply store like knifekits.com among several.

There are many lubricants to use and everyone has their favorite! I have had good results from Tuf Glide and Militec. They both work well.

You can buy replacement washers from Knifekits.com. They have phosphor bronze washers that are touted as an upgrade to the flimsy ones usually used in production knives

kershaw's customer service told me that they would send me them free of charge, awesome deal
