Short and sour.

Dad had another heart attack night I got back and is in hospital in Springfield. I'm just back with Brother Fred from trip over to see him and talk to doc.

Dad needs bypass or at least stents but is too weak to tolerate. Only option change meds to strongest stuff and send him home to let nature take its course. What I consider worse is mental facilities are degenerating at an alarming rate. I can see difference in one month. He'll need a nurse to vist daily and will need 24 hour watchdog. I start work on this project tomorrow.

My own 11th hour report is this. Latest from Reno medical magicians is my cystoscopy showed nothing to be alarmed about. Lungs same as 4 years ago at bypass surgery time -- okay. Liver will require monitoring as left kidney will. No biopsy at present. Next round of testing scheduled for 4 months down the road. Repreive puts me in limbo for a few months. Okay by me but don't like the suspense.

I'm going to seek second opinions an all this ASAP but right now Dad takes priority over my own problems.

I'll be scarce for awhile but I'm still here and will check in when possible.

Seriously considering a couple of months retreat at Buddhist monastery back in Nepal or No. India (Kalimpong)if I survive Fed. testing and things go okay with Dad.. I need it.

If you have time send up a little smoke. Thanks again to all for well wishes and prayers.

Bill, take care. Of your dad and yourself.
And as Yvsa says, may it happen in a good way.

There hasn't been this much smoke in my house since I quit cigarettes ( was it four years ago? ). Not a criticism of smoking, just an observation that I find strange, odd, out of the natural order somehow.

Get better, and may you and Yangdu be blessed with a grace to accept what will happen with a deep sense of the serene, far more than you could dream of asking for yourself.

Maintain your normal sense of humor and irony, Bill. My best thoughts to you and yours.

Uncle Bill,
Glad to hear your sit-rep, very sorry to hear about your Dad. Best wishes on both. Your still in my prayers. Maybe a retreat would be for the best. Recharge and reconnect ;) .
Take care! My best to the rest of your family.

Best

Maybe there's a Buddhist monistary in the US that
you'd find appropriate for a few weeks away?

More of Yangdu's Sherpa incense going up late night out here.

I pray tha tyour Dad will be OK and I agree you could use a retreat. Take care of yourself Uncle Bill.

You and your Dad are in my thoughts and prayers as always Uncle Bill. Take care of business and don't worry about us. As much as I appreciate updates (although not always the news they bring), you need to take care of your Dad and yourself first. Take care and stay strong.

Love, peace and healing to you and your father, Uncle. May every kind deed be repayed to you tenfold.

John

Just stopped by the House of Rice on my lunch break to pick up some more Nag Champa incense. Smoke will be sent for you and your family tonight.
