Well I got one of my new knives that I orded online. Its the Xikar Elan gentlemans knife with abolene handles.
First... its was smaller than what I thought it would be.
Second... The abolene handles appear to have small cracks (jagged lines) in the slabs. This is because it is a shell and has imperfections. Much more than I thought it would have...
Third... The knife feels "Cheap" Its basically a "Thin" metal frame which employs a frame lock like a Kiss knife. But the frame is thinner, noticeably thinner.. AND the slabs are thin too, not inlayed in the handle just screwed on flat no contour no nothing.. "cheap"
Forth..even though it has a hole in the blade it cannot be open onehanded. The dang thing is too small a blade to manipulate that way. The oval hole makes a good fingernail knick though...
Fifth..When you open the blade you can feel the "ball dendent" rubbing against the blade. You know that scratchie grindie feelie.
Overall Im not impressed. I should of looked for one in a store first before I bought this online...
Hey .. I just gota idea... I'm going to give this knife to my wife for a Christmas gift.
