Report spam threads question for moderators

I've got a question on the spam threads we're seeing, as far as reporting them. If a person goes ahead and reports them, should you then make a post that says something like 'spam reported' so that multiple users don't make the report?

I'd be happy to report them, but don't want the moderators to receive a bunch of unnecessary reports if someone has already done so. Or perhaps there is already a way to see if the post has been reported? What is the recommended protocol?

No need to reply to a spam thread.

When a post gets reported by multiple people, the extra ones just get tacked on to the original, so there's not really any extra clutter or anything from multiple reports.
