Repro Whale Harpoon???

i just got this at an estate sale and cant figure out whether or not its legit or a repro. the tip is brass i think and it does pivot like the real harppons but the wooden handle seems suspect to me and kind of light like Pine or something.........any thoughts???? my workshop is a mess because im adding a new door, steel security type to keep the woman out ;)

Wall hanger. Souvenier from someplace like Bar Harbor or Provincetown. I have a couple in my garage. They came from some shop in Boothbay Maine 20 some years ago. There were two different sizes, the longer one as shown and a smaller version thats about 3 feet long

Oh well. It looks pretty interesting. Might not be worth a lot of money, but perhaps it makes you smile anyway?
