I thought this was rather ingenious and figured someone may be able to use something similar.

If anyone has any repurposing tips, videos, or stories, feel free to post them up.

Thanks.

Folks have been using them as a "base" for an engraving vice for a number of years.

And inlay work also. I'm looking for a b-ball now.

I've got a vice mounted to one and stuck in an old wheel barrow tire. Works great for a giant pana-vice.

I have one here to mount a vice/clamp on
I managed to just grind a flat face on the ball with my grinder. Wondered how to do that, then just hit the grinder

I had been wondering that very thing!

How does he have the lever hooked up to release pressure on the ball? All my hydraulic jacks have a turn screw?

If you had something on the release, and coming off as a "T" with ears

Just off the top ofy head, If you had something on the release, and coming off as a "T" with ears standing off of each end would allow you to twist the valve by stepping on one side or the other.
