Hi everybody. I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this topic BUT I'm calling from Australia and some of the things I see available on the net are not available (but legal) in this country. I was wondering if you guys could recommend any reliable mail order companies or perhaps even let me know which ones to steer clear of. I did try to order from one business and while well meaning their air charges were astronomical, far above what was to be expected. I have read another thread of internet fraud by another company, so it all gets very confusing for a newbie. Like all of us I love a bargain! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Rod.
 
I'd have to vote for A.G.Russell also. Only thing, they require a minimum order of $100 USD to ship outside North America. I don't know exactly what it would cost to get something to Australia, but I'm sure they would do the most reasonable rates. Check them out at: agrussell.com

Australia has got some excellent custom knife makers - you'd probably get a hand made for what it costs to get a production knife plus shipping from the United States.
 
I didn't check out Atlanta Cutlery but when I looked for Smoky Mountain, I couldn't see any information on shipping outside the US.
 
Thanks everybody, that's been a big help. I'll certainly check out all those sites. Actually, I've sampled through a bit of the forums and people here seem like a friendly, helpful, good natured bunch which is good when you don't know WHAT you're talking about!
