I have 2 Buck knives I need information on and a value if possible. One has male and female whitetail deer and the other has a bass. I can't find them anywhere on Internet. I did look oup engraved blade code and see deer is from 1998 and bass is from 2001. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Buck model 175 Lightning HTA-II knife. (HTA=HighTechAluminum). Made thru the late 90's to early 2000's. There are about 30-35 different picture scenes or handle colors. Typical value $25-$50. Low side of that without the box and higher if a low quantity production and/or wood box. There are always a bunch on eBay. You can check completed auctions for actual selling prices. There was a smaller version (170 Lightning HTA-I) that also came in a number of different handle colors but the picture scenes were only available on the larger 175. BCCI members can find these on the special projects lists.

This was my absolute favorite knife for a long long time. I assume Buck wasn't the first to introduce a thumb stud, but it was the first I ever saw. One handed open and close, locking blade, pocket clip, serrated blade, ergonomic blade shape for my thumb. I could bring it to action and put it back faster than a Hollywood movie gunfighter. Nothing but love for this knife.
