Everything has been sad and crazy here for the last month or so with Bill and Rusty passing and Yangdu going to Nepal. I was just wondering whether there was a new time frame on the Foxy Folly? Its perfectly understandable if things have been pushed back, but I was wondering. (I've been placed on a khukuri mortatorium so the thought of a prepaid blade is pretty sweet)

What exactly is a Foxy Folly anyway? I found a picture of one online, and it was cool, but is there any particular reason that everyone is so excited about it?

Well, the other guys can I'm sure give you all the technical reasons, but I'm excited because its a special run order that was designed by some guys who have tested out lots of Khukris and think it would be a sweet balance of chopping ability and portability.

IIRC, Yangdu is supposed to get back from Nepal on the 12th or so. Hopefully she'll give us an update or email Yvsa/Dan and let them do it.

tinmaddog, these FFs (if done to proper specs by the kamis) are expected to be about the most versatile khuk the average cantista can find. That and the beauty of the prototypes are the reason for all the excitement with the FFs.

Guys officially there has been no word from Yangdu but a few more days will maybe bring some enlightenment....;) :D

But if you will all stop mulling it over and just stop and think you should recall that Yangdu was taking a 24 ounce weight to Nepal so the kamis could get the weight correct on the balance of these special beauties.
Someone also graciously donated a scale but the feasability of using it is somewhat vague because of the power issue, I think it was electric.
I would almost bet $10.00 to a Donut that the FF's are being worked on as you're contemplating this.:D

Between the 24 ounce weight and the scales the rest of the Foxy Follys should be just what we've always wanted them too be.:D  :D

This way, not too many will be in the 26-28 oz. range! :D A simple balance beam scale with a set of standard weights is the way to go. The kamis can make the scale with a few pieces of wood and two lengths of chain. 24 oz. for the FF would be incredible.

I'm bringing this back to the top to see if we have a date yet. I saw the batch that Yangdu sold a couple weeks ago that were a little long, so I got the juices flowing again.
'Thanks.

Yangdu has said that two more are being made for review. The length and weight were close to spec. I think they'll be in the air this week or next. (?)
