I am looking for help on a trio of the older Mean Street series blade. They are all of the INFI Mean Street series and I am trying to determine current fair market values for them. I would appreciate some guidance from those that keep up to date on Busse values and the INFI Mean Streets in particular.

First is a "Fatty" DWMS (Desert Warfare Mean Street) measuring .27" thick just in front of the handles. It is the smooth black coating with Tan handles and has a kydex sheath. It is in excellent condition. My understanding is that this is a rather rare Busse knife and thus the lack of information from any sales on these in the past.

Second is a 2 Tone LMS (Lean Mean Street) measuring .208" thick just in front of the handles. It is a Satin blade with black crinkle coat on the spine and butt of the blade along with Black handles. I believe it would be called a "Variant" according to Busse terms. It is the only one like it to my knowledge and it is just as it came from the Busse shop.

Third is a regular LMS (Lean Mean Street) measuring .208" thick just in front of the handles. It is the Black/Black knife with a kydex sheath. It is unused and has a minor wear at the tip due to the sheath.

Thanks in advance for any input, insights, thoughts, comments and/or feedback from the Busse Hog gang.

Sincerely,

FWIW, I have your third knife. If I was to sell her today, my asking would be $550. IIRC, there is some very slight smoothing just above the edge for the length of the edge that is from insertion into a kydex sheath (which would be included in the sale), but she appears unused other than that. Good luck!

Hammy has all the older MS, he should know what they are worth!

RW,

I have that exact DWMS at about .271.

I'll hunt down the info on the transaction and send it to you this weekend. I wish I had found it first:grumpy:!!!

On the third knife LMS, well it all depends on perception. If I was selling to no one special and just wanted all I could get out of the knife then that would be one price. If I was trying to get it to a guy that was into that kind of a knife like you are into BA-IIIs.... well I’d give the person a break if I didn't have to pay top dollar myself. In the first case I bet you could push that price a bit beyond what OTE quoted.

I have no idea what that second one is worth but it is nice.

I really have nothing useful to offer. But I admit, I drooled over those pictures.

It's best to be honest, right? :)

Just wanted to say thanks to those few that provided some of their thoughts on these blades.

Thanks,
