I've managed to accumulate quite a few knives (I know, join the club, right?) and right now, I've got them collected together in a cigar box, with the packaging stored in a second box in a closet. I was showing my wife, who supports my knife habit, a new knife I was considering and she asked what I had in mind to display all the ones I had now. Uhhhh....that's a very good question! was my response. So, I was curious as to how everyone else here with large collections displays them. I have over 40 folders currently, with plans to purchase more this year. I did do a search for knife displays, just to make sure this hadn't already asked but I didn't find much. I'm open to suggestions, and would appreciate ideas. Pictures especially welcome!!

Ideally, a safe. Or at least some sort of locking metal cabinet or box that's large enough that it can't be easily carried away.
I use Craftsman tool chests.

I to have been thinking about this .I have been thinking of putting mine in my spair room only the people i trust can see them . And i have been thinking of a glass front wall cabinet with a lock . Don't know if this helps you .

Craftsman tool chest for traditionals, Pelican Case for moderns.

I found this awesome old 9 drawer metal case from the '60's that was my grandpa's. Each drawer has 4 sections and can be sectioned off even more with metal inserts, I have some drawers divided into 8 sections for my smaller folders and [with no additional inserts] for my larger folders, its 6" deep so it'll fit even my largest folders and the whole case can be. Stuck in my safe if I deem in necessary.

Depending on how much floor space you can dedicate to a cabinet, there are several brands of locking tool chests are available.

As an example only, here are some Huskie brand I was lookiing at for tools in the shop, but they would work for knives as well.

This shows a 10 drawer version. It's actually 2 chests stacked, a 4 drawer on top of a 6 drawer. Both can be locked. I believe you can buy each piece separately.

Next is the 9 drawer, with a wood (or wanna-be wood) top. Beside it is a different foot print 4 drawer chest.

Check your local craigslist for lots of used ones at a cheaper price than new. My nearest big city (Austin, Texas) had 86 different ads for tool chests of various types, brands and sizes.
