here's the story: for the most part I'm sharpening challenged. What works for others just doesn't work for 2 knives I have.
So rather than continue to dull these knives and frustrate myself, I suddenly realized I should simply make the following request here at the Forum. Perhaps someone here would like the challenge of showing me just how easy it really is.
Is there a BF fellow who lives in SoCal (La Mirada or Whittier or Buena Park) who would like to take a shot at sharpening two of my knives which absolutely refuse to cooperate with me and get scary sharp ??
First knife is a Robert Hankins Dark Night Fighter. Robert can put sharp on it's O-1 steel blade, I have been 100% unsuccessful.
Second knife is a SOG Recondo with BG-42 steel. It just laughs at me. All the time. I can even hear it now.
Anyway, that's my sad story. If a local sharpening expert would like an opportunity to practice, I've got two knives which would like to become your friend. Please feel free to give me a shout at:
new_pig_hunter@buffalo.com
Cheers and Thanks Much,
Carl
