Short version:
If you have a favorite small holster, pouch, sheath, or sleeve that you store your collection grade knives in individually, could you please post a picture, and say what it is?
Long version:
I recently purchased a Hinderer XM-18 3.5 inch. I use it every day. I cannot take it into my workplace, so I leave it in my car. I wanted something that would obscure it, and protect it from dirt etc.
I did some searches before (I have no idea where) and I found a picture of what looked like a cordura based solution that was long and narrow and opened on the side like an envelope, I think. It fit a 5 inch knife in it perfectly. The picture was of a two-tone case color. The main body was one color and the border was another. I think it was also around $12-20. The person that made the post of the picture was responding to a request to know what other people are using to store their knives when not in use.
I was in a rush, and was not able to save the search, or the link. No combination of the above search terms has helped me find it again. I cannot remember how I stumbled upon the image. Google Image search has not helped me yet. I could not tell if it was something that would attach to a belt or not. It is not an important feature, but I did consider that when I was picking search terms to find it again.
So far I have found:
Maxpedition Knife Pouch 6x2in but it appears to be no longer available in US. It looks like it would work well. It is not what I found online.
I have also seen their other products. The Maxpedition R-7 looks like a good alternative, just a little larger than I was hoping.

These look pretty good CSM Gear Padded Knife Storage Pouch
I have some other knives strewn about my drawer, and some snug pouches would work great. I'm trying to avoid having them scratch each other for no good reason. Silly, I know. Not all of them are as tough as the XM-18.
