Hey all, been a while since I've been on here. I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a 581, but I hate the scales. I would want to modify the metal liner and make my own scales around it, but to do what I want to do, I need to see some pictures to see if it's possible.

The shots I need to see are as follows:
1. the blade in the metal liner, open and closed, from both sides

2. with one liner off, but attached to the other, with the blade in the open position, closed position, and a few in between. I want to see what the clearance is for the blade and the stop pin, and how much metal I can take off the top.

I want to see what sorts of geometries would be possible for scales with the liners provided. I have searched and not been able to find this. I have found a few videos, but there are always hands in the way, or they don't put the blade in the right positions for me to see what I need to.

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

I suspect the other full size barrages are similar in construction, so if you have any shots of a 580, I think that would be equally helpful.

When I was curious about the mechanism some months ago I did a google image search and found some. I also found vids on youtube showing how to remove the assist.

Yeah, I've searched extensively and not been able to find exactly what I'm looking for. That's why I posted
