I'm growing to buy Emerson but I'm concerned about ti liner lock durability after some reviews and pics. Can you post here pictures how's ll in your Emersons looks after few years of use?

Thanks.

I'll upload pics in a little while, but I have a few Emersons from different years and the lockup is all good. My hardest user, a CQC-15 I bought in January of 2013, has about 30%-40% lockup. I also have a 2002 CQC-8 at 50% lockup, and 1999 CQC-7 at 10% lockup. Emersons overall have good lockbar life and if there ever is an issue, Emerson's warranty is the best in the business. You'll have it back like new in a week or two

I have a 2013 cqc 15, which was a display model (read waved and flicked potentially abusively and often) and has been my work carry for the past summer, 5 days a week for the past 5 months, I myself flick and wave it for fun, as well as use it regularly also, lock up is 70% and solid, and was that way when I bought it

For comparison, here is pic of my BM 913, taken in 2008. It's still the same after 7 years.

Its been my expierence with the half a dozen Emersons ive carried that the locks wear very fast. I have a 2014 7 that went from 20% lockup new to about 80% in 3 weeks (and its even a non waved model) and has stabilized since. I dont worry about it too much with the warranty but they locks seem to wear across fairly rapidly.

With my first Emerson (Mini Commander) the lock wore in pretty fast. Could have been the TI liner to the steel blade tang but I more attribute it to me. I waved thing incessantly and wrist flicked it open hard quite often. It was my first quality knife that I carried and used and my understanding of the relationship between materials wasn't there. All the Emersons I've had since have barely moved at all. The CQC 10 that I had was probably carried and used the most since the Mini Com and the lock only settled and then didn't move much farther.

In essence, take care of your tools and it will take care of you.

I agree with this as I own a few that have done so. Had some that changed only 5% from where they started too. They seem to wear in differently model to model so perhaps the OP could be more specific to the potential models or interest. No pics. Not something I keep a photo record of. Personally having purchased over 100 Emersons, never warrantied a single one of the over 50 that got put to use or any of the new ones from dealers after playing with them (Hate to gift broken things). LNIB ones that I sold were exactly that so I can't say for those, never broke them in. Hope this helps in your decision to take the plunge.

I believe that the older ones are more consistent given my personal experience that I have and still do own multiples of some recent production models.

Most of the ones I own are from the last 5-7 years and I haven't had any real issues with them. I've only owned 6-7 emersons but I don't think I've had any issues that made me feel like I couldn't trust the knife to be used in any EDC conditions let alone ANY conditions. Keep in mind that lock stick doesn't really bother me because I can use the sharpy trick until it's fixed, and a slightly stiffer opening action doesn't bother me as well because I can always wave the knife if necessary. The only issue I can think of that I couldn't resolve is that my cqc-7bw is noticeably off center and no matter what I try I can't fix it. All the others I have though have come dead center or just a hair off. As others asked, what models are you looking at??

Best of luck
-Nick
