I am in the Army, and the Army is looking at replacing the ACU Pattern Uniform with Multi Cam Pattern Uniform which is used by Special Forces Units. Multi Cam would be a killer cool handle Pattern and with a Black Blade would be super sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sal please think about it!!!!!!!!!!

I like the way it looks but the real issue is, can it help Soldiers Survive, SF Units have been using Multi Cam, I guess they like it because they keep wearing it, I read some where that the decision to get ACU is flawed. Somebody made a choice to buy it with bad info!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now as far as knives go, Spyderco ACU pattern on the Millie does look cool and I have one with black blade, I carry it while on duty all the time. But later if the Army goes to a different camo pattern I hope Spyderco will add that to the Millie line.

Look wise I heavily prefer the "digital" ACU pattern. I have no idea how effective it is though. :o

Not too fond of that at all

Me neither.

Camo on a knife? Effective? Um... yes. Effective for helping you lose the knife. It's fine if camo is your thing... but really, why would anyone want a knife that's harder to see?

I've said this many times before, the point of camouflage is to break up an object's outlines making it harder to see. Do you really want your knife harder to see? What happens when you drop it in tall grass or leaves at dusk or at dawn? You're not finding it quickly is what happens. At least black does offer a solid shape when you're looking for it.

If you're a soldier, your body is big enough that no enemy is going to see your knife if they don't see you.

Again, if you like camo go for it... but at least in my opinion, OD green (or foliage green) and camo are poor choices for knife handles if you actually want to keep you knife.

But hey, you likes what you likes. I just happen to like my knives visible... I lose enough stuff everyday that I don't need to be searching around for something else.

I meant effective as actual camo for wearing. ;)

I figured that out after I posted. I is slow sumtime...:D

Though I agree with the easy to lose bit of your post. That's why my last remaining military (except for the S90V) is in hunter orange. :D No way I'm losing that thing.

I'm not a fan of orange either, but I've just never liked that color (and I almost went to grad school at Tennessee ). But it is a lot better than camo or OD green.
