Hey guys, I bought a new Brous VR-71 G10 this past weekend. I’m kind of concerned that it could be made in China. Not that I don’t buy knives made in China, but I was under the impression that it was made in the USA when I bought it. I thought it was made in USA because online dealers listed the same knife I was purchasing as being made here. After buying it and doing more research, I found out that mine could be made in China. The blade doesn’t have any markings other than the production number.
The Brous website claims Chinese companies are making clones of his knives and to send pics of a knife you own or are about to purchase to see if it is authentic. Well, I did this and I still haven’t received an answer. I even emailed Jason using the email address on the certificate of authenticity that came with my knife and no answer.
As far as I know Brous Blades is a family ran business. Their website doesn’t give a phone number, business hours or any way to reach them other that an email.
Can anyone tell me what to look for whether it be features on the knife, or something to do with the case it came with to determine is it is legit or not? If you can, I would appreciate it.
