I carried one for a while.
It's your traditional Emerson.
This means all the good and the not-so-good.
Good:
- The WAVE. Need I say more?
- Amazing ergonomics. Handle is among the most comfortable and also secure that you can get in a folder.
- Blade is short enough to be legal in a lot of places. I managed to get it into several Federal facilities where the security was aware of the < 2.9" limit on edged devices.
Not-so-good:
- The double detent ball setup is not only less grippy in staying shut, but also not as smooth as most single-detent setups.
- 0.050" Linerlock. If you trust them, you trust them. If you don't.... you dont.
- Short blade design combined with low saber grind makes it a not very aggressive or efficient cutter. It's thick and sturdy; it's not exactly slicey or stabby. A lot more resistance when cutting things than with something thinner or narrower, but you do get the tip and edge strength.
Hope this helps.
